Abstract

During the plague epidemics, Christians in the Romanian area appealed to the saints endowed by God with therapeutic, protective and healing powers. The Orthodox prayed for the healing of diseases and plagues to St. Haralambia and St. Visarion, the Catholics addressed to St. Roch, and the Armenians called for St. Gregory the Luminator and St. Hagigadar.
