Abstract:
This article is dedicated to one of the well-known architect Leopold
Sheidevandt. Born in 1829, he was appointed to the post of Kishinev city
architect in 1878. This architect became the author of the project for new
building of the Kishinev Women's Diocesan School, which was built in 1881-
1882. The other projects for the construction of residential buildings in
Kishinev, completed by L. Sheidevandt in 1883-1884, were also preserved in
the archives of Moldova and Russia.
Successfully fulfilling architectural duties in Bessarabia for over 40 years, he
passed away in 1894 and was buried at the Catholic cemetery in Chişinau.
