Abstract:
Astra schools were also organized in the Banat area, where the „Astra
Bănăţeană” Regional was manifested since 1937. On March 1, 1937, in the
premises held by the Lipova Commercial High School, the courses of the first
school for the villagers were held. It was organized according to the model
promoted by Astra. On this occasion, Sever Bocu, considered the school for
the villagers to be necessary in the respectively area. In order to organize the
local school courses of Astra, Sever Bocu former ministry from Banat in the
Government of Romania and the local management of the partition of Astra,
thanks the Agricultural Chamber of Timisoara for the constant support
offered.
It was about the allocation of a budget amount of 15,000 lei, but also the
temporary hiring of competent teachers to support and evaluate these local
courses for young villagers in Banat. Also, S. Bocu, appreciated the support
offered to the Astra school in Lipova by the Viticulture School in Miniş Arad, respectively, and he cordially thanked the management of the Lipova
Commercial High School, who accepted to provide the necessary location for
organizing and conducting Astra School courses.
