dc.description.abstract The article discusses the features of the psychological defense mechanisms` functioning and the process of self-regulation in adolescence. The study showed that there is an interconnection between psychological defense mechanisms and the individual processes of self regulation. Moreover, the features of the individual self-regulation in adolescence determine the specifics of self-protection manifestations. The self-regulation processes , mediating behavior, lead to a conscious decision of taking "safeguard measures" that reconstruct human activity and begin to define the lifestyle , self-esteem and view upon the world that is so important in adolescence. en_US
