Abstract:
The article deals with the main problems of formation of reader's competences in
students with speech disorders. The author proposes a method of studying the reader's competencies,
which is based on the idea of functional assessment of the formation of reading through the study of three
selected reader's competencies proposed by M. N. Rusetskaya. For the assessment of each of the
competencies the author offers multi-level tasks aimed at the study of readers ' competencies. On the
basis of the analysis of psychological and pedagogical literature the indicators of formation of reader
competence of pupils with speech disorders are allocated, as a result of which each child is given points,
on the basis of standardization, which are ranked by levels. Then there was developed speech therapy
work on the formation of reading competencies in students with speech disorders.
