Abstract:
While developing the ways of improving speech of the children with Down syndrome, we
proceeded from the fact that recently all children, including those ones, who have the development retardation, easily master various electronic means of communication. Electronic means of
communication were used both in the diagnostic and correctional stages. Their use made it possible to
significantly improve the children’s speech, who took part in the experiment, to increase their motivation
in doing speech therapy exercises. The results of the study showed, that nine out of ten children had
improved speech characteristics, such as phonemic perception, grammatical speech structure; children’s
vocabulary had been grown significantly; their coherent speech had been improved.
