Abstract

Studying the historical past is a major contemporary priority and creates real premises for a deep understanding of the essence of the research process of the historical-cultural treasure, forming metacognitive skills. By knowing history, we create human values, we educate generations, able to promote attitudes of respect for the past. History is the basis of education for society. The inclusion of students and pupils in the process of historical knowledge aims at discovering the historical truth, this being the fundamental objective of historical knowledge. Historical research is accompanied by a process of advancing and arguing opinions, of discovering the truth.
