Abstract:
The article discusses the importance of studying folklore in the context of interdisciplinary research.
This approach allows not only to study the historical and cultural heritage of each people, but also the issues
of ethnogenesis. It is concluded that song folklore is closely related to traditions, which allows us to consider
it as a valuable historical and ethnographic source. The author especially dwells on the importance of
studying the Gagauz folklore in this aspect, since this allows revealing some pages of their history and
culture.
