Abstract:
This paper presents the results of a psychological intervention program to optimize the behavior of emerging adults and the changes introduced in the daily lives and lifestyles of emerging young people (19-30 years) during the isolation period COVID-19 in the spring of 2020. These young people, belonging to the NEET category (no employment, no education or training) participated in the period 2018-2019 in a psychological intervention program to optimize behavior by improving maladaptive mental schemas. At the end of the program, these young people had passed the NEET condition, following a form of education and / or accessing a job and leaving their parents' home. Due to the pandemic, some of them had to move back with their parents, lost their jobs or dropped out of school due to not adapting to the online environment or being dissatisfied with the virtual study conditions. The psychological traits that contributed most to preserving non-NEET status were personal autonomy and flexibility.
