Abstract:
The major socio-educational changes taking place in the Republic of
Moldova and worldwide, require new approaches in organizing the
educational process, in order to provide an ongoing training, adjustment and
optimization of the teaching-learning process of specialized languages, a
reality involving active integration of information and communication
technology.
From this perspective, the application of specialized languages, as a
result of globalization and increased communication between professionals
of a specific community (doctors, lawyers, businessmen, engineers, etc.) is
of major current importance for the use and implementation of highly
specific and relevant professional terminology.
Moreover, due to an increasing demand of intercultural communication,
English has been considered an international language, present in almost all
social, cultural, economic, political fields, etc., which aims to improve the
communication skills among students, thus streamlining the acquisition of
professional language. Therefore, the "recognition" by linguists of the
importance of English as Lingua Franca, which ensures and facilitates global
communication, offers English the status of an international language.
