Abstract

Valentina Rusu-Ciobanu through his creation brought an invaluable contribution to the development of fine arts in the republic and pavedtheway for thei nclusion of the painting school in Moldova in a new history of Romanian art. Starting the path of creation in the interwar period, the plastic artist,along the way,knew several sources of influence sand possibilities of manifestation - from the aesthetics of "socialist realism", to that of modern European art, and that with roots in the tradition of folk art. The thematic subject sapproached by the artist vary from static natures,to portraits, gen recompositions, “historical” and contemporary compositions, etc. V. Rusu-Ciobanu's creation through the amalgam of trend sand ways of expression, through the conceptual relation ship and metaphorical perception of the world, through the "modern" character of the plastic formula, diversified the aspect of national painting and opened the way to globalization.
