dc.description.abstract The sculptural portrait in Moldova has its origins in the art of Moldovan folk crucifixes. And only at the end of the XIX - beginning of the XX centuries, thanks to the efforts of artists and teachers as Terenty Zubku and Vladimir Okushko, European art was presented for the study of young talents, among them was Alexander Plamadeala. He studied at the art courses of the communal school of drawing, which was led by Vladimir Okushko, then, at the School of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture in Moscow in 1912-1916. He returned to Bessarabia in 1918, and, in 1919, was appointed director of the School of Fine Arts in Chisinau. Through his activities, he contributed to the education and formation of knowledge in plastic anatomy among young talents in the interwar Bessarabia. en_US
