Abstract:
The socialization process of children with mental disabilities faces difficult problems to solve, such as the lack of interpersonal communication skills in the environment of people without disabilities; the non-existence of the need to communicate; inadequate self-esteem; negative perception of other people; egocentrism; the inclination to be maintained and protected.The life of the mentally handicapped child does not involve wide contact with his peers: if the child is institutionalized, then he is surrounded by people with similar social-mental and communicative problems; if they are in the family, then only the family, the relatives, are next to them, therefore the need for a deep analysis of the laws of communication development in the category given by children.
