Abstract:
In accordance with the legislation of the Republic of Moldova, the social protection of the population is achieved through two systems: 1. the social insurance system and 2. the social assistance system. The social insurance system represents a system of social protection, granted by the state, to the insured persons. The social assistance system includes primary, specialized and highly specialized social services. Social services are provided with priority in the family environment, community and, as a last resort, in residential institutions. The system of social services in the Republic of Moldova is influenced by international social policies.
