Abstract:
This article contains a synthesis of the approaches of self-respect in the vision of different researchers, the importance of this quality and the relationship of self-respect with other components of self-awareness. The results of the empirical research of self-esteem in adolescents presented in this article highlight the close relationship of self-esteem with its components, with the beliefs about inner actions reported by their own person. Empirical research has shown the presence of gender differences in self-esteem in adolescence, boys being those with higher scores on most variables studied.
