dc.description.abstract The article presents the life and activity of the literary historian, folklorist and archeographer Gheorghe Bogaci, a Bessarabian of origin, trained and educated in inter-war Romania that got noticed in the context of the totalitarian Soviet regime. He worked in various scientific institutions; whose activity was adjusted to the official ideology. Despite the vicissitudes of time, Gh. Bogaci contributed to the development of the history of literature, the study of folklore, the exploitation of the national literary heritage. The exegesis of literary history has been used as a sounding board to express his opinion to wards in democratic regimes, combating the falsification of the Romanian language, disreputation of origin and national conscience, and the traffic of artrarities that represent the national heritage. en_US
