Felt – it's a material with an old history, and its manufacture appeared before sewing or knitting. In ancient times, it was made of vegetable fibers, then the hair of the animal's fur began to be used. Today, the felt is obtained from the wool of sheep, camels or goats. The threads are pressed and glued using soap and water, but other methods use a needle brush to gather the threads. Over time, felt has come to many uses: for tents, clothes, carpets, hats, shoes, and even as part of musical instruments.
Today it is used not only for the manufacture of the above, but the palette has been enriched with toys, decorative objects, bags. Moreover, in addition to the felt obtained from wool, felt made from bamboo fibers or artificial fibers has appeared. |
