Abstract:
The article offers an analysis of the teacher’s professional qualities that go beyond traditional competencies. New competencies respond to the modern challenges that society imposes to education.
Such innovative activities of the teacher include leadership. The qualities of a leader that characterize a competent teacher are highlighted. In the conditions of intellectual and professional competition, constant self-improvement, pedagogical search and creativity are one of the mandatory requirements that are applied to a modern teacher. Teaching leadership focuses on teaching-learning processes and student and
teacher outcomes in order to achieve high quality teaching. The problem of forming the professional qualities of a humane leader is not well studied.
