dc.description.abstract Reading is considered a fundamental activity for learning and contributes to the formation of students' literary competence. As we increasingly face a lack of interest in reading, both from students and society in general, the aim of this paper is to establish the importance of reading in education, to highlight the characteristics of the process and to present arguments which have a role in forming the motivation for reading, starting with primary education. en_US
