Abstract:
Water is a primary element. In mythology and folklore the symbolic meanings of water are numerous and varied. The aquatic imagery of D. Matcovschi's poetry have a structure in particular on the following mito-folkloric meanings: as a symbol of life, regeneration and purity. Water appears both as a spring, river, sea, and under the drop of dew, rain, tear. The entire existentially matcovschian imaginary is under the sign of the aquatic: the country, the house, the mother, the beloved... The water is the matter that integrates the being into the universal circuit of the elements.
