Abstract:
The esearches on the status of mother tongues and literature in school studies have become increasingly diverse and nuanced in recent years. This aspect, influenced by new perspectives on knowledge, the impact of new media and new technologies, the general and global phenomenon of digitalisation of forms of communication, has implications for the aims and content of education. Education today has three important roles:
1. a personal one (which develops the individual talents and sensibilities of the student);
2. a cultural one (provides a profound understanding of the world);
3. an economic one (it forms the necessary skills for young to be able to earn their living).
In order to reach these goals, the teacher will achieve the most important competence with which the young person will step into the life - the competence of communication.
