Abstract:
This article is devoted to the problem of democracy, considered by the eminent representative of Russian religious philosophy N.A. Berdyaev (1874-1948). Berdyaev illuminates her as a spiritual, cultural and religious. He believes that the triumph of a democratic ideology will not bring genuine freedom to a person, will not contribute to the realization of creative impulses, but will create even more tyranny than the old tyranny. Berdyaev shows that democracy does not understand that man is not an abstract social unit, but has a qualitative originality; therefore, the mechanical summation of the wills of certain people will not allow the expression of the organic will of the people. The value of democratic experience consists only in the fact that it will enable a person to understand the futility of the claims of democracy and turn him towards God.
