Abstract:
The lexical-grammatical transposition, that is sometimes called improper derivation or conversion, refers to the functional shift of a lexeme from lexical-grammatical class to another, possible only under unusual conditions for that lexeme. In our opinion, the essential condition of the concerned phenomenon, is the modification of the specific context, different from the one which defines the respective word class.
In this article we will elucidate the problem of the functional transposition of the studied language. We refer particularly, to the functional aspect of the transposition and not to the transposition phenomenon as morphological-semantic derivation type. In this case, it is important to examine it in relation with the notion of conversion.
The article reveals unusual cases of conversion, a means of enriching the whole Romanian lexic, including ,,artistic" phenomenon that are not present in dictionaries, but fit within the language system.
