dc.description.abstract Writing plays an important role in the teaching-learning process of foreign languages. Foreign literature is an academic subject, within the context of which students get acquainted with writers, literary currents and works. By reading and analyzing literary works, students understand and learn better a foreign language, whereas by expressing their ideas about a literary work or trend bringing arguments, they develop their ability to express themselves in a coherent, fluent and argumentative way, which leads to the development of the writing competence as well as of the oral one. The research presents the literary thesis as a method of academic writing which greatly contributes to the teaching and learning of a foreign language. en_US
