dc.description.abstract |
In this article, we are presented theoretical visions on occupational interests. Particular attention is paid to Holland's conception. Holland’s theory (1997) is an example of feature-factor. This is based on more assertions: 1. The individual’s personality is the primal factor when choosing a career/profession. 2. The interest’s profile reflects one’s personality 3. The individuals develop stereotype assessments considering their professions (e.g.: we consider that an accountant is prompt, quiet introvert, antisocial, etc).these assessments shape our point of view about different professions and play an important role when choosing a career. 4. Every person looks for a profession which is not only congruent with one’s personality, but which also allow him/her to carry out one’s attitudes or to exploit one’s qualities. A proper adjustment leads to success and satisfaction. |
