Abstract:
Emotions are an important part of our lives, affecting a lot of our actions. We are not always aware of their presence though. Emotions do not force us to react in a certain way, but conduct us to do something that makes sense in a particular context. As usualy is considered that emotions play a big role in people’ actions. Emotions are actually malleable, which allows us to control them. Ability to understand and balance emotions is called emotional regulation or emotional control. Stress is not an emotion, it is the consequence of an overflow of emotions. When we feel stressed, we need to take time for analyzing the negative emotions that we have so we can have control over our emotions. Thus, emotional control/management is also linked to other forms of control/management, such as the control/management of stress, mood, thoughts, attention, and impulses such as hunger, aggression, or sexual impulse. The article stands with plausible evidence that emotional control/management is not a single process, but includes several components, including being aware of the emotions that you doiung trough, paying attention to the evolution of these emotions, understanding and naming them, categorizing them and directing or modifying them so the individual can achieve the purpose of the actions he performs.
