Abstract:
Before the CEFRL there were more models of communication competence, which led to CEFRL. This article tends to analyze only two of them. It speaks about the model of Canale and Swain which comprises 4 main components and served to the development of the foreign language courses and of the linguistic tests. The second is the model of Bachman and Palmer, the speaking ability, which developed methods and instruments for the linguistic competence measurement.
