Abstract:
This article describes the importance of the ecological education, by emphasizing the fact that this type of education is not only an instrument for solving environmental problems or managing the natural resources, but is also a process of a high importance for the recognition of the environmental values and the definition of the concepts regarding the environment, in order to improve the quality of life. There are described the most important conventions on the environment: AARHUS, the Rio Declaration, Agenda 21. An essential place in this article is reserved to describe the ways in which ecological education is realised in various countries: Romania, Austria, The Netherlands, Norway, Finland, etc.
