dc.description.abstract	The specifics of poster art require the message to be perceived from a distance in order to be perceptible and attractive. Poster art appeared as a separate genre of graphic arts in the second half of the 19th century. Before then, similar genres were part of social life in the form of large scale prints / etchings with satirical or informative content, such as political satire, daily life or patriotism. The need for artists to transmit messages by means of artistic expression evolved alongside urban development.	en_US
