Abstract:
The specifics of poster art require the message to be perceived from a distance in order to be perceptible and attractive. Poster art appeared as a separate genre of graphic arts in the second half of the 19th century. Before then, similar genres were part of social life in the form of large scale prints / etchings with satirical or informative content, such as political satire, daily life or patriotism. The need for artists to transmit messages by means of artistic expression evolved alongside urban development.
