Abstract:
Enamel art, originating from Asia and applied widely, known since antiquity, passed from India to Egypt and experienced periods of appreciation and disgrace period. Enameling process enters Europe through migratory peoples, Etruscans and Greeks. In the Middle Ages used enamel art Byzantine craftsmen and the Renaissance of Venetian glassware. Enamel art knows a spectacular flowering in the XV-XVI centuries. The most important center of enameling was the French city of Limoges. Spread was the artistic and enameling process in the XVII- XVIII centuries in France, England and Germany. In the nineteenth and twentieth century’s border enamel technique was preferred by artistic movements Art Nouveau (1890-1910) and Art Deco (1920-1930), whose works have subsequently reached fabulous art trade prices.
