Impactul conflictelor elitare asupra situației politice externe a țării Moldovei la mijl. sec. al XVI-lea

Abstract

This article examines the conflicts between the elites in the Principality of Moldova in the middle of the 16th century. The study analyses the relationship between political decision makers: the reign and the nobility, and identifies the groups of boyars and the orientation of the foreign policy. This article addresses the changes of rulers as a result of the conflicts of interest between different nobility groups, and between the boyars and the reign. The conclusion of the article is that the conflicts within the political elite led to political, decisional and institutional deadlock. In order to achieve their own goals, the political elite in the Principality of Moldova promoted the idea of external help as a general policy thus jeopardizing the security of the state.
