Abstract

The contemporary school has meant to prepare pupils endowed with knowledge, capacity, abilities and attitudes which will allow to integrate with success in society, to deal with or unknown situation everyday life. Emphasis is placed on developing certain skills. In order to be formed some of them to students be certain format some skills and abilities, especially working with geographic map. For abilities and skills training it is necessary to make many exercises and systematic observations and repeated both geography lessons and in the field. The best important understanding and skill is reading and using different types of maps. Students should know to read and interpret geographic map, this is a desideratum of contemporary school.
