Abstract:
The present study is an analysis of the principles, themes and cultural content contained in some history books for grades V - VI of the stage of secondary education, developed by the authors in Moldova and published during the years 1995-2014. It appears that for the discipline of History the focus is limited when referring to the cultural content, hence students get to know little about the achievements in artistic culture and material culture of the people of Republic of Moldova but also other ethnic communities. Overall, the textbooks also express little attention to intangible heritage: traditional creations, expressed in verbal forms, musical, choreographic and theatrical but also when referring to all customs, practices, representations, expressions, knowledge and skills, cultural spaces associated with them.
