Abstract:
Romanian space monumental painting was manifested in ancient times in various forms: mosaic, fresco, stained glass. She peaked in the medieval frescoes in the churches of Moldovan monasteries Voronet, Humor, Arbore, Moldovița. The images have a religious theme, a conventional layout and colorful tone.
In the seventeenth and nineteenth centuries monumental painting is profane and is treated in a more open and realistic, academicist. In the twentieth century it reflects Soviet ideology and applied in different techniques and artistic means
