Abstract:
The university library has evolved beyond its traditional role as a repository of books to become a vibrant center for culture and intellectual engagement. Through the organization of cultural events: such as book launches, exhibitions, conferences, reading clubs, and workshops, the library transforms into a dynamic environment that fosters critical thinking and creativity among students and faculty. This article explores the role of the university library as a promoter of academic and cultural dialogue, highlighting the variety of events it hosts and their impact on the academic community. It also examines the intellectual challenges these initiatives bring, including the diversification of perspectives, the development of analytical skills, and the encouragement of interdisciplinary interaction. The study presents best practices from leading university libraries, illustrating how such initiatives can enrich the educational experience. It also addresses challenges such as limited resources, event accessibility, and resistance to change. The conclusions emphasize the need to diversify cultural activities within libraries, expand inter-university collaborations, and integrate new technologies to enhance the visibility and accessibility of events. In doing so, the university library reaffirms its essential role in the intellectual and cultural development of future generations of professionals.
