Abstract:
The article briefly describes the Recommendations of the Council of the European Union on the key enabling factors for the success of digital education and training by improving the supply of digital skills. The recommendations emphasize the need to train and develop the digital skills of teachers so that they can effectively use digital technologies in the teaching and training process. In the Republic of Moldova, the development of digital skills for teachers is becoming an important priority, as noted in the Digital Transformation Strategy for 2023-2030, as teachers are important actors and the driving force in the digital transformation of society. Also, The DigCompEdu digital skills framework for teachers was approved in 2023. For university librarians, there is a need to analyze and study The DigCompEdu carefully, in order to identify the deficit of digital skills among librarians, as well as to identify those that need to be improved, determining, for this purpose, specific training opportunities for continuous professional development.
