Abstract:
Audio-visual techniques can lead to a kind of verbalism of the image, when they only favor associations unrelated to authentic activities. Preventing the shortcomings that may appear in the inappropriate use of audio-visual techniques, the speech therapist, by using the LOGOPEDIX software, can acquire valuable help in the therapy activity. Speech therapy that involves the use of speech therapy software determines the activation of motivational impulses in students. The use of the computer as a support for the remediation of language disorders cultivates the students' interest in the therapeutic activity. By systematically presenting and offering new, rich, well-selected information that can be reproduced in its natural ambience and dynamics, the computer maintains the student's curiosity for continuous knowledge and increases the motivation to correct language disorders. The research results highlight the need to develop an intervention program through educational software that is easy to use, such as LOGOPEDIX and the beneficial effect of the PILSE program applied to improve and remedy language disorders in students with intellectual disabilities.
