Abstract:
The article presents information with reference to the personality profile of the teacher, which plays a decisive role in the formation of a child with special educational needs. Both professional skills and personality traits have profound repercussions in the soul of children, causing reverberations throughout their lives. The personality of the teacher is the decisive factor for school success, namely it supports the educational act and influences the results of the learning process. The article presents the opinions of several authors who were exposed with reference to the specific qualities and personality traits necessary for the teacher. The teacher who is involved in teaching children with intellectual disabilities must: love their work, be energetic, patient, endowed with an iron will, cheerful, loving life, optimistic. Teachers play a central role in the success or failure of students, as they are life models with a strong impact on the child's personality. The personality of the teacher is decisive in working with children with severe and multiple disabilities. In working with these children, the personality of the teacher has a whole series of qualities, determined by the specificity and complexity of the work they carry out.
