Abstract:
The article aims to research the emotional stress of parents of drug addicts in relation to the consumption period of young people. The research was conducted on a group of 47 people - parents of young drug users - aged between 30 and 70 years old. The results of the research highlight the fact that the daily demands to which the parents of drug addicts are subjected are varied, being associated with the high level of emotional stress they experience. The level of emotional stress of codependents is related to the period of consumption of young people. The more parents are involved in the children's problem, investing time and effort in searching for solutions, not paying attention to personal needs, the more they are emotionally overwhelmed, being depleted of personal resources.
