Abstract:
The link between language and culture seems undeniable. Learning a language, in fact, also means learning the underlying and embedded culture within it. From a diachronic perspective, the concept of culture was determined, first of all, by the nature of the sociocultural phenomena of a given era, secondly, by the evolution of scientific theory in the field of linguistics, anthropology, pedagogy, sociology, etc. The aspect on which this article will focus is the diachronic development of the notion of culture in language teaching. The main objective is to analyze the turning points in the teaching of culture, regardless of the contexts of the foreign or second language teaching/ learning process, understanding - it is known that there are differences related to the specifics of these contexts.
