Mesopotamienii au acceptat un calendar destul de modest și apreciabil pentru acel timp, bazat în parte pe observațiile permanente asupra fazelor Lunii. Luna – zeul Sin – era urmărită cu mare atenție, fiind notate și stelele prin vecinătatea în care se desfășura drumul-calea aparentă al Lunii.

Mesopotamians accepted a fairly modest and appreciable calendar for that time, based in part on permanent observations of the Moon's phases. Luna – the god Sin – was followed very carefully, being also noted the stars in the neighborhood where the road-the apparent path of the Moon was unfolding.
