Abstract:
Self-care is essential for the human wellbeing. You cannot take care of another if you have not learned to take care of yourself, your needs, your emotions, your body. Self-care is essential in promoting and maintaining mental and physical health. The self-care is a key element in integrative psychotherapy. We learn self-care from the youngest ages, taking the model of significant people in our lives, from the attitude of our parents/guardians towards our person. Selfcare becomes important for our existence in an overburdening world, it is decisive in living a coherent, generous, happy and fulfilled life. Self-care is an indispensable element to relate harmoniously in the family, to be able to cope at work and in society; keeping the balance between giving to others and receiving back.
