Abstract:
The biodiversity of the Republic of Moldova is in an alarming state and, unfortunately, the number of rare species is constantly increasing. This fact also denotes the number of species included in the Red Book of the Republic of Moldova. If in the first edition (1978) 26 species of plants and fungi and 29 species of animals were included, then in the second edition (2001) – 126 species of plants and fungi and 116 species of animals, and in the third edition (2015) – 208 species of plants and fungi and 219 species of animals. In order to save rare species, in 2002 the "National strategy and action plan in the field of biological diversity conservation" was elaborated, according to which a special place in the protection of biodiversity belongs to the training and education of the population, namely: lit. D, point 1. Development of a complex pre-university, university, postgraduate ecological training program and its implementation in the educational process. The article will analyze the main documents and educational policies of the Republic of Moldova regarding the achievement of this objective, as well as describe various methodological aspects of teaching the material related to the rare plant and animal species included in the Red Book of the Republic of Moldova and forming the attitude about the need to protect them.
