Abstract:
The present article aims at the role of the formative assessment, as part of the instructive-educational process, supporting pupils in building their learning abilities. The formative assessment offers feedback for adjusting the learning, finds pupils’ needs, as they appear and change, contributes to motivation to learn, improves pupils’ achievement, sustaining the little pupil’s personality development. From a trans curricular perspective, the assessment has to be an interactive process, has to target an active involvement of the pupils, to encourage learning through cooperation, application of diverse methods and approaches on how pupils understand their assignment, and also a support given to little pupils. While the formative assessment facilitates learning and focuses on the teacher’s intervention towards the pupils, the forming assessment comes to support the pupil and the initiative appertains, because it reflects his work’s results.
