Abstract:
The present article addresses the problem of training the competence to receive the oral message through active listening in primary school pupils. The investigation of the problem has identified as the most effective didactic means that contribute to the efficiency of training the ability to receive the oral message is listening to literary texts, and the method most frequently applied by the teachers is explanatory reading. Determining the logical sequence of events in a listened text is one of the difficulties that primary school pupils frequently encounter in the formation of this competence through active listening. The results of the research confirm that active listening facilitates the formation of the competence of receiving the oral message in primary school pupils.
