Abstract:
Dictation, traditionally, is used in Romanian language and literature lessons as an exercise or form of evaluation through which, in most cases, the student’s spelling and punctuation skills are evaluated. This article addresses the problem of utilizing dictation for formative purposes, referring to one of its less common types, namely image dictation, as a variety of visual dictation. Because it lacks the actual dictation operation, dictation in images is a non-traditional form of dictation, which can be successfully valued in order to train students’ linguistic competence.
