Abstract:
This article briefly describes the concept of environmental education, highlights the importance of an integrated approach to environmental literacy in the educational process, and presents an experiential approach to assessing the level of environmental literacy in elementary school students from the perspective of integrating curricular content through testing. It allows to address social issues in an inter- and transdisciplinary way, so as to better understand the interdependence between the environment, human activities and social problems. Through this approach, pupils develop a greater understanding of environmental issues and acquire the skills needed to make decisions and take responsibility for the environment.
